THE COUCH SURFER SPECIAL MIXED 15-PACK
2015 MATIAS “Santa lucia highlands” PINOT NOIR
From Wine Enthusiast, “Ripe and fruity aromas of cherry pie with vanilla-laced crust make for a delicious and hedonistic if not entirely complex nose on this appellation blend. It’s also rich and fruity on the palate, with black-cherry and warm croissant flavors.” 91 Points
2016 JOSEPH JEWELL “RUSSIAN RIVER VALLEY” PINOT NOIR:“Doubling down on the extreme quality that Joseph Jewell Russian River Valley Pinot Noir has produced in previous vintages, the 2016 sets an all new high water mark. The alluring nose has the most beautiful blend of pomegranate, red pie cherries, mixed florals and hints of spice. The mesmerizing mouthfeel has a supple, satiny texture, along with a mouth-filling explosion of ripe black raspberries, sweet red plums, tart cranberry, cherry cola, chamomile tea and asian spice. The rich, supple texture and concentrated flavors are perfectly balanced by a mouth-quenching freshness that leaves me begging for another sip. I am seriously sitting here shaking my head and trying to remember if I have ever had as great a wine at this low price. Don’t think so.“ 98 Points, Kevin M. Vogt, Master Sommelier
2018 PAYDIRT GOING FOR BROKE PROPRIETARY BLEND:
“The nose is filled with ripe blackberries, smoked plum, orange relish, cranberry, blueberry compote, white pepper, and dark chocolate. The palate is round, juicy, and bursting with fresh- ness and concentrated red and dark fruit components. The finish is persistent, layered and vibrant, with a touch of spice.”
2017 VISTA RUTHERFORD RED BLEND: Tasting Notes: “Scintillating aromas of fresh blackberries, tart red currants, cocoa powder and vanilla spice. The palate is dense, rich and powerful with a beautiful combination of bright red fruit characteristics that perfectly intertwine with deep black fruits including blueberry compote, crushed black raspberries, ripe red plum, baking spices and bittersweet chocolate. Intense and penetrating, this wine displays concentrated, powerful fruit with a gorgeous center core that finishes with a long, focused finish and slightly dusty tannins.” 92 – 95 Points Kevin M. Vogt, Master Sommelier
2016 HOOPLA CALIFORNIA CABERNET SAUVIGNON: “This wine’s dense, dark garnet hue beckons you to dive deep into the nose as it opens with hints of Peruvian peppercorn and pencil shavings. Upon taking time to breathe in the glass, notes of raspberry, graphite and hot earth are revealed. On the palate, the raspberry aromatic evolves first into bramble and secondarily into framboise liqueur, filling the mouth with its dense body. As the wine slowly recedes, a beautiful rose water essence is revealed, leaving one wanting more.“
