2016 SHOTTESBROOKE LANGHORNE CREEK CABERNET SAUVIGNON

$19.99

Some of the most complex and hedonistic Cabernet Sauvignon for your dollar, comes from down-under. The grape has a long history in Australia that dates back to the mid-1800s. Luminaries Penfolds, Leeuwin and Cape Mentelle have helped to canonize Australian grown Cabernet as a serious contender on the world stage. Shottesbrooke’s 2016 Cabernet reminded me of this, and with 93 and 95 Point scores, I wouldn’t hesitate to secure your 15-Pack Case.

Hailing from the Langhorne Creek Appellation, which is located inside the Fleurieu zone, and is also home to the McLaren Vale region, Shottesbrooke’s 2016 perfectly expresses the area’s rich terroir, and it’s among the best Cabernet Sauvignon Under 20.

Shottesbrooke’s 2016 is loaded with classically styled, profound notes of eucalyptus, blue plums, juniper berry, and baking spices. The wine is intensely aromatic, wildly complex, and very approachable, and at just $19.99 offers extraordinary value… (Case-Worthy-15-Packs-Recommended)

2016 SHOTTESBROOKE “LANGHORNE CREEK” CABERNET SAUVIGNON

JAMES HALLIDAY | 95 POINTS
Tasting Notes from James Halliday (Australia’s Top Wine Critic) “While not particularly deep, the hue is youthful, and the fragrant eucalypt nuances that accompany the fresh cassis of the palate are regional (and shared with Coonawarra). The finely spun tannins are a feature of a medium-bodied cabernet made to be drunk whenever the idea pleases you. Screwcap. 14.5% alc. To 2030” JAMES HALLIDAY 95 POINTS

TASTING PANEL MAGAZINE | 93 POINTS+
Tasting Notes from Tasting Panel Magazine (USA Wine Publication) “Dark dusty garnet color. Aromas of blackberry jam, black plum, juniper berry, and wet slate with a tart, dry full body and an interesting, very long ripe blackberry, black plum, bergamot, and dates finish with woody tannins and heavy oak flavor. Robust and aggressively structured cab for similarly inclined fare.” TASTING PANEL MAGAZINE | 93 POINTS + Gold Medal Exceptional

ED’S NOTES | 96+ POINTS
“A couple years ago, I got a late night phone call about 1am or 2am in the morning from an Unknown Australian Number… I was working, and immediately thought, OK, who is calling me right now? My wife is going to see this and get pissed! When I answered it was just the friendliest guy with an awesome Australian Accent… Frankly I couldn’t understand half the things he said, but he was so nice, so kind, and he was the Chief Winemaker at Shottesbrooke. His name was Hamish Maguire, and I told him the next time I visit, that it would be an honor to meet him… he openly invited me to stay at their Guest House on the Vineyard and crush it! I’m so happy to see they are finally garnering the high-scores they deserve. This is just a great wine, and whatever you want to call this… the Best Cabernet Sauvignon Under 20, or perhaps the Top Cabernet Sauvignon Under 20… please get your cases now before it’s gone. I highly Recommend 15-Packs of this One. The Screw Cap is so convenient for Picnics, Parties, BBQs, the Movie Theater, the Beach, Poolside, Road Trips… etc. 🙂 Cheers! to the Aussies on this one… Nice Cab Guys! I hope to visit soon… this is Superb Juice for the price.” EDWARD CALIHIWINES 96+ POINTS (plus for easy open screw cap – love it!)
