Not long after Andy Erickson worked his first harvest at Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars, he enrolled in an Enology program at UC Davis. During his college studies, he worked at Spottswoode and Saintsbury wineries, which led him into ten years of winemaking for some of Napa Valley’s top estates, including Harlan Estate, Screaming Eagle, and Staglin Family Vineyards.

Andy founded Leviathan in 2004 to showcase the freedom of American winemaking without rigid appellation requirements and was propelled by his access to some of the most revered vineyards of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. Each year, Andy’s meticulous fruit selections for Leviathan create a distinctive wine with character and finesse. He combines his advanced knowledge and skillset with the notable vineyards he sources the fruit from for this world-class red blend.

2019 LEVIATHAN CALIFORNIA PROPRIETARY RED WINE

95JS | Tasting Notes From James Suckling, “Very pure fruit this year with ripe raspberries and fresh currants throughout. Full-to medium-bodied with soft, polished tannins and bright, clean fruit. It’s really balanced and the finish and makes you want to drink it. Subtle and vivid fruit at the end. Yet, it can improve with age. Blend of cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, merlot and petite verdot. Drink or hold.”  JAMES SUCKLING 95 POINTS
