2018 WARWICK PROFESSOR BLACK PITCH BLACK STELLENBOSCH PROPRIETARY RED

$35.00

South Africa is considered part of the New World in terms of viticulture and winemaking; however, Warwick Estate’s history began in 1771, producing wines for the growing Cape population for almost two hundred years. In 1964, the Ratcliffe family took over operations, focusing on a more quality-driven product and producing the first-ever “Cape Blend.”

This Bordeaux-style blend includes a small percentage of Cinsault, creating a homage to the style originating from the 1970s, resulting in softer tannins, brighter fruit flavors, and deeper color. This wine is bright, refreshing, juicy, and will enliven your evening the moment you pour a glass – and at this price, any night of the week will suffice.

2018 WARWICK PROFESSOR BLACK PITCH BLACK STELLENBOSCH PROPRIETARY RED

Tasting Notes from Platter’s: “Beautiful bright purple in colour. Strawberries and blue berries jump out of the glass with the initial nose, followed by rosemary and hints of spice. The palate is medium bodied with fine tannins, drink over the next 3-7 years.” PLATTER’S SOUTH AFRICAN WINE GUIDE 93 POINTS

Tasting Notes from Edward, “This astounding red wine blend from South Africa is mesmerizing with luscious fruit, and upon layers of exotic spices…  complexity and balance reminiscence of French Bordeaux at least thrice the price. This is a Gem. Wish I had more to share. “ CALIHIWINES 95 POINTS
