2018 SOSIE STAGECOACH VINEYARD ATLAS PEAK RED BLEND
Sosie wines are sourced from celebrated vineyards in Sonoma and Napa Valley, chosen for exceptional farming practices that ensure perfectly ripened, well-balanced fruit, leading to minimal intervention in the winery. The winery focuses on blends, exploring various barrels, vineyards, appellations, and varietals, creating food-friendly wines with impeccable balance.
Perched at the top of Atlas Peak, the renowned Stagecoach Vineyard was wasn’t planted until 1991 because there was no water to be found. It took a “water witch” (part hydrologist, part sorcerer) and a whole lotta dynamite to make the place plant-able. Some two million pounds of rock were blasted to make the vineyard what it is today… Stagecoach Vineyard is prized for its Napa Valley Terroir of: Volcanic Soils – Red Earth, Rocky Terrain, and High Elevation.
This lovely Red Blend from the superb 2018 vintage combines 56% Cabernet Franc and 43% Cabernet Sauvignon with a touch of Petit Verdot, fermented with native yeasts and matured 21 months in French oak, enhancing the purity and complexity of the finished wine.

Tasting Notes from the Winery, “The blend – 56% Cabernet Franc and 43% Cabernet Sauvignon – has both beautiful aromatics and silky texture AND succulent fruit and rich tannins. The wine exudes aromas of fruit, spice and herbs. Specifically: currants, cedar and sage. On the palate, black cherry, blueberry, figs, jalapeño and dark chocolate. Finishes with a hint of dried orange. The tannins are assertive but not chewy. They give the wine backbone – a spine of support for its fleshy fruit and spicy tendons….” ~ SOSIE WINES | CALIHIWINES 95 POINTS
