2018 LETO CELLARS MT VEEDER CABERNET SAUVIGNON, NAPA VALLEY (very limited)
Brad and Lisa Warner share more than 80 years of wine industry experience and have taken everything they’ve learned along the way and poured it into their boutique brand, Leto Cellars. Leto is Greek for “the hidden one” and expresses Brad and Lisa’s goals as they source fruit from small, family-owned vineyards from premier locations throughout the Valley.
Brad chose this Mount Veeder site because of its volcanic soil composition and cooling effects from San Pablo Bay, allowing the fruit a longer hang time to develop extraordinary complexity. Barrel-aged for 18 months, this 100% mountain Cabernet Sauvignon walks a tightrope of rich power and focused restraint, highlighting the vineyard and vintage with perfect balance.
Tasting Notes, “The 2018 Leto Mt Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon swirls your senses with aromas of lavender, vanilla, rosemary, and crushed nutmeg. On the palate, this mountain Cab delivers with a plethora of delicious flavors; a rich concentration of layers unfold with each sip – dark chocolate, mocha dusted blackberries, Tahitian vanilla, perfectly ripe blueberry, and wet stones linger in a long finish. The tannins are big at first – yet fine and dusty with time (let it breathe). This gorgeous wine emulates an immaculate structure that will unfold in layers of complexity with age yet also shines with vitality today… Enjoy now with a proper 6-8 hour decant (open in the morning), and age gracefully in your cellar for at least 15+years… this one has a lot of life! although I can’t seem to keep my hands off of each release – cases seem to go fast – enjoy any time, to impress your guests, or just throw a steak on the grill for you and yours… this is a Majestic experience. ” CALIHIWINES 96+ POINTS
*VIP Heads-Up: Foodies/Classic Pairing – I just enjoyed a bottle of this beautiful Mt. Veeder Wine last night once again with a Grilled Ribeye, Baked Potato, and Creamed Spinach… it is truly a perfect pairing my friends, and this is definitely the best wine with steak… This Medium to Full-Bodied Concentrated Napa Cab cut through the steak with complementing textures and layers; the mouth-watering acidity made each side dish bite exquisite… and this wine is actually so very well balanced, that it also paired wonderfully with a decadent slice of rich chocolate cake. This Leto Mount Veeder Cab is my go-to for this classic pairing, and it continues to delight us with each sip, and every bite! Consistently Brilliant.
