2018 GRASSI NAPA VALLEY CABERNET SAUVIGNON
Winemaker Notes, “The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the Grassi estate, and is a blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 13% Cabernet Franc. It is a true showcase of the estate and the great vintage; red and black fruit on the nose with a hint of French oak. On the palate it has mid+ body, great acidity and fresh notes mixed with notes of cherry, raspberry and blackberry. Firm tannins are holding the wine tight with a long finish. The wine is showing well and will age for 15+ years.” ~ Winemaker Maayan Koschitzky
Edward’s Extended Tasting Notes, “When I first opened the bottle, and poured a glass – I immediately took a sip, and was blown away from the Massive Structure – this is a BIG wine! With Gripping Tannins, I was like WOW … this one needs some time to open. Patience is a virtue , and so after about 6-hours of decanting and swirling, it started to show this JAW-DROPPING Opulence and Elegance that compares to $300+ bottles… on the nose, it’s just loaded with cherries, and the prominent essence of French Oak reminds me of walking into a Winery Cellar in Napa Valley, it’s so beautiful. The first glass is super-rich, concentrated, and yet bright and fresh at the same time. As it opens further, the tannins start to smoothly evolve into a Seamless Dream… inviting you to explore more. Blueberries, Blackberries, and Plums swirl with hints of Clove, Dark Chocolate Truffles, Rose Petals, and Royal Ann Cherries…. so gorgeous and exciting!! That bottle disappeared way too fast my friends, and I woke up smiling with purple teeth wanting more, so I’m going to splurge and getting a case myself (maybe two cases), because I believe this perfect wine from the 2018 Vintage will age for upwards of 20+years, and I can’t wait to explore it as it gracefully evolves!
