2018 GRAND NAPA CELLAR SELECTION NAPA VALLEY CABERNET SAUVIGNON
Tasting Notes from Jeb Dunnuck, “Incorporating 5% Cabernet Franc, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Cellar Selection from Grand Napa Vineyards reveals a deep purple hue as well as a toasty, spicy nose of red and black currants, toasted bread, spring flowers, spice box, and dried, cedary herbs. Showing plenty of richness and depth on the palate, with velvety tannins and a nicely balanced mouthfeel, enjoy this already complex, nuanced Cabernet any time over the coming 15 years or more. It improves nicely with time in the glass and is a beautiful wine.” JEB DUNNUCK 93 POINTS
Winemaker Dwight Bonewell directs as much of his attention to the cellar as he does to the vineyards, ensuring that only the best fruit is harvested and sorted by hand before working his magic in the winery… On average, Napa Valley’s 2018 harvest was between ten days to three weeks later than in 2017, giving each vine a slightly longer growing season for ultimate flavor development. The Cellar Selection is 95% Cabernet Sauvignon with 5% Cabernet Franc from special barrels showing the most authentic expressions of Napa terroir.
