More often than not, the best wines that we discover come from close friends in the wine industry.  When Roger Roessler, whom you might know from Black Pine first told us about this Rosé last year, his excitement was so contagious that we immediately tasted it.  We fell in love with the previous vintage and it became a staple on our tasting menu in the shop.  The quality was so stratospherically high and the value so deliciously palpable that it truly set a precedent for the brand. Needless to say my expectations were high when tasting the 2018, and the wine completely shattered them.  At $23/btl the quality is simply unrivaled.

Provence is a region in Southeastern France which is perfectly suited for producing profound Rosé wines.  Château des Garcinières has been family owned and operated since 1898, and their family has been caring for the grapes for four generations.  Their 2018 Rosé combines a stunning blend of Grenache and Cinsault grapes, and on the palate the wine is concentrated and pure, with bright orchard fruits, veins of minerals, bright acidity and delicate sea-like nuances that bring a smile to my face every time I taste it.

Importers Tasting Notes: “St. Tropez lies just around the corner from the birthplace of this wine on 44 acres tended by the Valentin family since 1898. Blessed by the same sun and sea breezes as Tahiti Beach, Cap 21, and the memory if Voile Rouge, it embodies the delicate and romantic taste of 75% Grenache and 25% Cinsault.  This biodynamic Rosé is vibrant and fresh; aromas of white peach and passion fruit emerge from the glass with a hint of lavender to remind us of its home by the sea. As with previous vintages, the mouth is filled with delicate raspberry and wild strawberry. The hallmark minerality of the wine is persistent thru the lively finish. Crisp and lovely, the striking acidity makes it a perfect example of why all others try to imitate the Rosés’ of Provence! Feel free to drink it over ice as many do. It pairs perfectly with seafood, chicken, Asian food, Mediterranean meals and any light dish. Soft, sensuous, seductive Rosé.
