2017 WILLIAMS SELYEM RUSSIAN RIVER VALLEY PINOT NOIR

The best wines evoke memories, intellectual thoughts, and feelings when you taste them, and every time I taste Williams Selyem Pinot Noir thoughts of patriotism, Independence and Celebration come to mind.  Two hundred forty one vintages after the Declaration of Independence was signed, Williams Selyem made history when Wine Enthusiast awarded their Litton Estate Pinot a perfect 100 Point score. This was the first Pinot Noir in North America to earn 100 points from any major wine publication.  Their 2017’s have exceptional levels of seductive fruits, supreme complexity and regal balance.  At under a hundred bucks, the level of quality leaves me at a loss for words…

Forged from iconic sites including the winery’s Drake Estate, Laguna and Martaella Vineyards, the 2017 delights your senses with tantalizing red berries and finely detailed flavors that overlay in cascading layers across your palate.  I recommend sitting down before tasting it because the perfume alone will knock you off your feet, as redolent aromas of crushed raspberries, intense pomegranate, holiday spices and red flowers intertwine in perfect detail.  Pinot Noir fans have a lot to celebrate with this stunning release.
