2017 ERIKSON & CARADIN CRAFTSMAN & WOLVES CABERNET SAUVIGNON

$140.00

“Boutique” is a term regularly used to describe a small and highly specialized winery. Erickson & Caradin’s specialty is their vivid expression of terroir, and their winemaker Kevin Morrisey is well versed in producing wines with sense of place. He previously interned at Petrus in Bordeaux before making wine for Stags’ Leap Winery, Etude, and Ehlers.

E&C brought the 2017 Craftsman & Wolves Cabernet to life from a single-site located on the lower slopes of the Mayacamas Mountain Range, where river deposits from thousands of years ago intermix with the well-drained alluvial soils that make this site unique.

Created from clone 337, which frequents some of California’s top Cult Cabernets, the 2017 vintage spent 21 months in barrel and is stunningly intense and profoundly complex.

2017 ERIKSON & CARADIN CRAFTSMAN & WOLVES CABERNET SAUVIGNON

Tasting Notes from Winery, “As in previous vintages this wine continues to impress me with its heavy-duty styling. Almost black in color with forceful aromas of crushed black cherry. I feel like luck is on my side. 2017 granted me a little exoticism. The palate is medium plus-bodied with an intense, crushed plums infused with dark berry fruit. The palate is striking with life-affirming tension. So happy with the result. Expect a seamless aging for the next 6-15 years.”
