2017 ABREMUNDOS OCTAVA ALTA UCO VALLEY ARGENTINA RED

$29.99

Marcelo Pelleriti is one of the few winemakers in the world who harvests two vintages annually, one in Mendoza and the other in Bordeaux. He is world-renowned for being the first Latin-American winemaker to achieve a 100-point score from Robert Parker for the 2010 La Violette from Pomerol.

In Mendoza’s Uco Valley, Marcelo teamed with multi-Grammy-award-winning musician Pedro Aznar to produce the Abremundos Octava Alta. Marcelo oversees every aspect of the production journey, tending to the vineyards from pruning to harvest, guaranteeing exceptional fruit quality.

The Uco Valley is known for its high elevation and diverse soil types, creating an ideal environment for viticulture. The 2017 release takes an Argentinian approach, combining 80% Malbec with 20% Cabernet Franc, matured in oak for 15 months, presenting an intimate marriage of Bordeaux varietals and Argentinian terroir.

*It is extremely rare to find a wine that is rated from James Suckling 96 Points and under 30 per bottle.

2017 ABREMUNDOS OCTAVA ALTA UCO VALLEY ARGENTINA RED

96JS | From JAMES SUCKLING TASTING NOTES“Dark-cherry, clove, vanilla and toasted notes. It’s full-bodied with firm tannins and structure. Rich, creamy and full on the palate. Tannic finish with length. Yet, it shows composure and polish. Try from 2023.” JAMES SUCKLING 96 POINTS

Nestled beneath the majestic Andes Mountains lies one of the world’s most extraordinary wine regions… Mendoza, Argentina. It has become one of the Greatest Wine Capitals of the World. Abremundos is located in the Uco Valley region of Mendoza, and this story is Beyond Beautiful Terroir – it’s an enchanted tale of Vines intermingled with Music… a true essence of what I like to call Wine Culture; reminding me of the pureness within. Salud! ~ Edward
