It’s not easy finding a $23 bottle that tastes like it should be $40-$50. Of course, finding one that’s made by one of Napa Valley’s premier winemakers is next to impossible. We just found one, and it’s made by Winemaker Helen Keplinger, whom you might recognize from when Wine Spectator featured her on the front page, for her work at Bryant Family, Kenzo, and Grace Family. Even at the winery retail price of $42, a wine of this caliber would make anyone do a double-take… At just $23/btl, this is one of our best discoveries of the year so far.

Cellar worthy, case-worthy, and won’t last. We all need a good deal, especially now, and it’s nice to have good juice to sip on… Enjoy Life! 97+ POINTS

Tasting Notes from Winery, “Polished textured with melted tannins. Balancing acidity with aromas of raspberry pie, blueberry and strawberry jam combined with nuances of rose petal and violets + spicy notes on the finish.”

Extended Notes | from Edward:
“I had a feeling my wife was going to like this one… I tasted about 30 wines the other day, and brought home a few bottles, including a case of this 2016 Waterfall Proprietary Red Wine… for just $23 I had a hunch it was a really special wine, sourced from Old Vines and expertly blended by Superstar Winemaker Helen Keplinger, however I didn’t tell my wife I had a case in the car until she tasted it first… (she confirmed it’s magnificent)

Yvonne’s Notes, “Wow, that’s soft, it’s like fluffy pillows, no hard-edges, and ultra-finesse. HEAVEN-SENT… whoever made that must be an Angel. Can you pour me more, I want a glass of that, and get a case for us.”

No-Doubt, this is one of our best discoveries below $25… if you enjoyed Vista, you will love Waterfall. I only wish we could get more, with a very small-production, this one will likely be gone in a flash. At this price, you can’t go wrong with a case, so get two cases and enjoy now through the next 7-years because this one will continue to evolve and age gracefully… Winemaker Helen Keplinger graduated from UC Davis, and was inducted into the Napa Valley winemaking scene by Legendary Heidi Barrett, and Helen then worked with David Abreu and Michel Rolland as well. Sipping on Waterfall Red reminds me a lot of Heidi’s master blending style. This is a Big, bold beautiful blend, rich in fruit, yet super-structured, perfectly balanced and enchanting … at 15.1% alc unbelievably silky. (it will get you there) Cellar worthy, case-worthy, and won’t last. We all need a good deal, especially now, and it’s nice to have good juice to sip on… Enjoy Life One Sip at a Time!” CaliHiWines 97+ POINTS
