2016 VALDEZ “RUSSIAN RIVER VALLEY” PINOT NOIR

$39.99

When combining the strong work ethic and natural-born talents of the Valdez family, with three spectacular Pinot Noir vineyards planted by the late Ulises Valdez, (one of California’s most distinguished viticulturists,) the quality of what translates into the bottle at such a realistic price is inconceivable.  Their 2016 Russian River Pinot Noir was born from UV, Lancel Creek and Lucky Well Vineyards, and fans of Aubert, Gary Ferrell and Ferren likely recognize these sites, as all three are synonymous with ultra high quality.

UV, Lancel Creek and Lucky Well Vineyards are all located near the Pacific Ocean, and benefit from the cooling maritime influences.  On the palate, the 2016 is highly expressive, perfectly balanced, and embodies everything that I’m exited about in cool-climate California Pinot Noir.

The Wine Spectator vintage report ranked the 2016 vintage as the highest rated since 2010 for Pinot Noir in Sonoma County, and with only around 110 cases produced, this tiny production Pinot Noir shouldn’t be missed. Anybody lucky enough to own it, will be thoroughly rewarded when they taste it.
