2016 REYNOLDS FAMILY PERSISTENCE PROPRIETARY RED, NAPA VALLEY
Reynolds Family Winery Notes: “2016 has proven to be an astonishing vintage for the Persistence. With a core of ripe bing cherry and briary fruits, the wine is not only dense, but supple on the palate. It’s brilliant acidity makes this a perfect pairing for a wide variety of foods or great just on its own.”
Master Sommelier Tasting Notes: “The Reynolds Persistence Proprietary Red 2016 simply drinks way beyond its modest price… While writing this review, I had a bottle sitting on the counter and let a friend taste it, who asked “Is this around $100…? It tastes like it!” When I told her the actual price, her jaw dropped… The nose begins with red and black berries, English rose petals, espresso roast, humus and hints of spice. The focused power and decadent richness combine on the palate with concentrated fresh black cherry juice, cassis, and black coffee in a delightfully balanced fashion along with beautiful persistence, no pun intended.” Kevin Vogt 94 POINTS
The 2016 Persistence is built on a foundation of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon and dressed with Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Syrah and Petite Verdot. This wine makes its splash from one of Napa Valley’s greatest vintages, and one that the Wine Spectator ranks as the highest rated vintage since 1997…. This Napa Valley Red Wine was cultivated from Steve’s Persistence Vineyard located in Napa Valley’s prized Oak Knoll district, just North of the town of Napa off the Silverado Trail, and is perfect for growing Cabernet Sauvignon. With a micro-climate cooler than the more up-valley AVA’s, the vineyard is perfectly suited to ripen Cabernet grapes. I’d make extra room in the cellar for this one…
