Description
2016 OVID HEXAMETER NAPA VALLEY CULT WINE
Tasting Notes from Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate, “Blended of 55% Cabernet Franc, 44% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Merlot, the medium to deep garnet-purple colored 2016 Hexameter leaps from the glass with bold Black Forest cake, cassis and redcurrant jelly scents with suggestions of candied violets, pencil lead, oolong tea and cumin seed with a touch of cigar box. Medium to full-bodied, the palate reveals loads of red and black fruit layers beautifully laced with exotic spices and floral fragrances, framed by super ripe, super fine-grained tannins and fantastic freshness, finishing long.” WINE ADVOCATE 98 POINTS
Tasting Notes From Jeb Dunnuck, “In the same ballpark as the 2015, the 2016 Hexameter (55% Cabernet Franc, 44% Cabernet Sauvignon, and a splash of Merlot) is similarly inky colored and has heavenly notes of black raspberries, cassis, violets, and forest floor. This full-bodied, absolutely riveting 2016 has ultra-fine tannins, is perfectly balanced, no hard edges, and a purity of fruit that’s hard to describe. It’s another legendary wine from this team. Give bottles another 2-3 years and it will knock your socks off over the following 10-15 years.” JEB DUNNUCK 99 POINTS

Notes from the Winery, “HEXAMETER is the meter that Ovid used in his greatest poem: METAMORPHOSES. This form of verse is uniquely suited to the telling of long and inspiring tales that stand the test of time. We aim to recreate these qualities in our HEXAMETER wine, featuring our Pritchard Hill estate’s most profound and compelling Cabernet Franc as its core.”
OVID is an organically farmed, 15-acre vineyard perched on a secluded mountaintop at 1,400 ft. elevation in the western reaches of the Pritchard Hill Terroir of Napa Valley. Here, they farm rocky red, volcanic soils to capture a true sense of place and craft long lived wines. Winemaker Austin Peterson, combines his site-specific experience with a sense of experimentation, embracing a tension between classical and cutting-edge winemaking methods. Each bottle is hand-wrapped in tissue paper, and OWC (Original Wood Case) available in 3-packs. Please note: very limited
