If you are looking for a Proprietary Red Blend that easily compares to the Napa Upper Echelon at 2x-3x the price, you won’t want to miss this stunning LAIRD FAMILY NAPA VALLEY RED from the EPIC 2016 VINTAGE, acclaimed as “one one of the best vintages ever” from multiple critics….

Coming from a family of tobacco farmers on the East coast originally, Ken Laird worked as a mechanical engineer in New York City before following his dream to return to farming. After purchasing a property in Napa Valley in 1970, Ken and his wife Gail cleared out the old, tired prune trees and began planting grapevines with the help of his mentor Robert Mondavi.

The Laird’s continued to purchase desirable plots throughout Napa and Carneros, recognizing each vineyard’s distinctive qualities and planting them with the right varietals to reach their fullest potential. The 2016 Jillian’s Blend combines 65% Cabernet Sauvignon with Syrah, Merlot, Malbec, and Petite Verdot, created from hand-selected fruit from the Laird’s most prized vineyards, offering a more complex and multi-layered wine than just one vineyard can convey.

Tasting Notes from James Suckling, “This shows some tension and form this year with blueberry, blackberry and walnut undertones to the ripe tannins. Medium body and a delicious finish…JAMES SUCKLING 92 POINTS

Tasting Notes from Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate, “…the deep purple-black colored 2016 Proprietary Red Jillian’s Blend has a baked blackberries, spice cake, tobacco and new leather-scented nose with menthol and grilled meats hints. Medium to full-bodied, it is juicy in the mouth with rounded tannins and a peppery kick to the finish.” WINE ADVOCATE 92 POINTS

Edward’s Notes: “Laird has always been one of my favorite wineries to take family and guests that were visiting us in Napa. I would also frequently visit the tasting room by myself, because their wines are so spot-on, I would establish a basepoint before venturing upon multiple tastings, and sometimes afterwards. Laird wines are THAT Good! Devotion combined with a deeply rooted Napa Valley Connection to the Earth – here’s a Family that literally owns/farms thousands upon thousands of Acres of Vines, Vineyards, PLUS run a world-class custom crush facility that hosts a plethora of Cult Wines that we can’t even mention here. They know the exact time to pick and harvest, and then crush it at optimum levels of perfection. Quite frankly, any wine from Laird and EVERY Jillian’s Blend will always be one of my personal favorites… the 2016 Vintage is now becoming ultra-limited and selling out fast. I don’t enjoy telling our highly treasured VIPS that a wine is now sold-out… (in other words, get some y’all asap) This will age gracefully upwards of 7-10 years, and likely start it’s journey of peaking in 2024-2025. “ CALIHIWINES 95+ POINTS

2016 Jillian’s Blend Winery Tasting Notes, “This stunning red blend says “hello” immediately with a vivid purple hue with the slightest maroon rouge rim. The nose has balanced notes of boysenberry, ripe blueberry, baking spice and vanilla. The palate is plush and balanced with flavors of dark red cherries, mocha, and clove. The lasting, indelible finish leaves you yearning for the next sip. A perfect wine to drink on its own or as an accompaniment to your next cookout.”
