2016 KORBIN KAMERON MOON MOUNTAIN DISTRICT CABERNET SAUVIGNON
Winemaker Tim Milos calls on iconic Cabernet clones 337 and 7, which thrive in the land’s well-drained gravelly loam soils when creating this idyllic illustration of the Estate. The area’s ample daytime sunshine and cooling maritime influence at night are perfect for ripening Bordeaux varietals to the peak of perfection. Korbin Kameron’s vineyard is perched on a ridge near Mt Veeder’s peak, straddling the Mayacamas Mountain Range at 2,300 feet elevation. Phil Coturri farms the vineyard organically, biodynamically, and sustainably, resulting in a pure and natural expression of fruit.
Tasting Notes from Master Sommelier, “The Korbin Kameron Moon Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 begins with a richly concentrated nose of red currants, gentle spice, light florals, and hints of vanilla. The color is a vibrant purple that showcases the focused, linear palate, highlighting the black currants, muddled blackberries, crushed slate, fresh sage, and forest floor. This wine is bright and fresh on the palate, with focused red and black fruits that lead to a long, concentrated finish. This wine is drinking beautifully now but will age for another decade.” KEVIN M. VOGT 94 POINTS
