2016 JOSEPH JEWELL “RUSSIAN RIVER VALLEY” PINOT NOIR
98KV | Master Sommelier Tasting Notes, “Doubling down on the extreme quality that Joseph Jewell Russian River Valley Pinot Noir has produced in previous vintages, the 2016 sets an all new high water mark. The alluring nose has the most beautiful blend of pomegranate, red pie cherries, mixed florals and hints of spice. The mesmerizing mouthfeel has a supple, satiny texture, along with a mouth-filling explosion of ripe black raspberries, sweet red plums, tart cranberry, cherry cola, chamomile tea and asian spice. The rich, supple texture and concentrated flavors are perfectly balanced by a mouth-quenching freshness that leaves me begging for another sip. I am seriously sitting here shaking my head and trying to remember if I have ever had as great a wine at this low price. Don’t think so.“ Kevin M. Vogt, 98 POINTS

99-100ES | CaliHiWines Notes… “Well Done Gentlemen – These guys know how to make Pinot! And these ladies (photo above) are enjoying it properly. This is by far THE BEST PINOT NOIR I have ever tasted Under $40, and also one of the best red wines for your health, loaded with antioxidants. When you pop a cork on this one, you’ll notice a Purple Goo on the cork – when I see that GOO my mouth starts watering: un-fined, un-filtered, unbelievable Everyday Value Pinot that should be 2x-3x more. Kevin just absolutely nailed it with his tasting notes! It reminds me a lot of Dr. Pepper – I like to throw it the fridge for about 15-minutes because it’s so refreshing with a slight chill… this is my Spring Break in a Bottle, my GO-TO BBQ WINE, the Ultimate Entertainer’s Delight. Grab a couple cases for your Spring BBQs and Summer Fun, throw a bag of ice on it – you’re set! Feel free to drink it right from the bottle! I would love to get 10-cases, throw a huge Party and greet guests with their very own bottle and corkscrew… who needs wine glasses? Not me, because this wine is perfect … Just Write Your Name on your bottle and let’s get this party started. Who wants to Host? I’ll bring the Juice and Golden Sharpie!” Ed Stephanick, 99-100 POINTS
The 2016 Joseph Jewell Russian River marries fruit from iconic sites Hallberg, Floodgate, and Bucher Vineyards. Williams-Selyem and Gary Farrell Pinot fans likely recognize these sites as being spectacular. On the palate the 2016 is full, rich and opens up to a basket of black cherries, ripe raspberries, black tea, and blue violets. Just like the previous vintages, the weight on the palate and fleshy, rich textures are absolutely sublime, and it’s become a hallmark of this brand.
