2016 ADAMVS QUINTVS HOWELL MOUNTAIN CABERNET SAUVIGNON
Howell Mountain is nestled High Above the Valley. Denise and Stephen Adams found their ideal property in 2008 with five separate vineyard blocks ranging from 1,500 to 2,000 feet in elevation with varying aspects and a tapestry of soils… ADAMVS’ talented and distinguished team includes viticulturist Michael Wolf, winemaker Alberto Bianchi, and consulting winemaker Philippe Melka, who together create wines of unparalleled sophistication. The 2016 QUINTVS Cabernet Sauvignon is a meticulous barrel selection of fruit grown on the estate’s five different soil types. With around four years in the bottle, the finished wine harmoniously represents Howell Mountain and seriously impressed our tasting panel.
97+JD | Tasting Notes From Jeb Dunnuck, “More dark currants, blackberries, spring flowers, dark chocolate, and tobacco notes dominated the nose of the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon QUINTVS and it’s a medium to full-bodied, beautifully balanced wine that shows the pure, classic style of the 2016 vintage. All Cabernet brought up in 75% new French oak, it has subtle oak, a beautiful mid-palate, silky tannins, and a great, great finish…” JEB DUNNUCK 97+ POINTS
95WA | From Robert Parker The Wine Advocate, “…the very deep purple-black colored 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon QUINTVS gives up warm blackcurrants, crushed plums and blackberry pie with touches of wood smoke, crushed rocks, iodine, truffles, charcuterie and bay leaves. The palate is full-bodied with very firm yet ripe tannins framing the generous black fruit and earthy layers, finishing on a lingering mineral note…” ROBERT PARKER WINE ADVOCATE 95 POINTS
95V | From Vinous Antonio Galloni, “The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Quintvs is fabulous. Large-scaled, ample and voluptuous, the 2016 presents a striking interplay of fruit and structure. This is a decidedly full-throttle style, and yet the 2016 has more than enough supporting structure to provide balance. Super-ripe plum, crème de cassis, new oak, spice and vanillin all flesh out in the glass. Creamy, ample and expansive, the Quintvs is one of the more open-knit Howell Mountain Cabernet readers will come across.” VINOUS 95 POINTS
