VINEYARD DESCRIPTION CC RANCH RUTHERFORD: C.C. Ranch is planted in Rutherford, along the slope of a knoll west of the Silverado Trail. The vineyard grows classic Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon on well-drained, gravelly loam soil and receives a variety of exposures, depending on the block and location. The vines are well balanced and the canopy is opened up to give good light exposure. Nickel & Nickel produces wine from 15 select acres of this 115-acre vineyard. The distinctive “Rutherford Dust,” combined with the spice and toast from the oak, deepens the wine’s flavor and complexity. Smooth and rich, this wine expands on the middle palate, and the soft tannins that are associated with the Rutherford appellation melt away into a long, harmonious finish… HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Their 2015 C. C. Ranch Cabernet offers a dynamic combination of vivid berries, enchanting spices, chocolates and notes of classic Rutherford Dust. Created from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and kept in premium French oak barrels, this wine is showy, distinct and memorable. The first thing I wrote down after tasting it was WOW!, underlined twice.
