Description
2015 LARKMEAD “NAPA VALLEY” CABERNET SAUVIGNON
The Larkmead estate is one of the oldest family-owned wineries in Napa Valley and was founded in 1895. The geology truly makes vineyards special after centuries of alluvial flow have resulted in the accumulation of ancient riverbed gravel, clay, and loam, forming the perfect canvas to cultivate grapes in. Winemaker Dan Petroski ferments grapes from these special vineyards in small lots that are broken up by clonal selection and soil type. He’s then able to identify and blend the absolute best wine possible from each vintage. The 2015 Napa Valley Cabernet is a rockstar and recently earned 97 Points from Wine Enthusiast…
Perfectly highlighting the diversity of the estate, the 2015 Napa Valley Cabernet arose from the deeper, richer soils found in A and C blocks and the wine was kept carefully at rest for 19 months in Tonnelleries, Demptos and Ermitage barrels. Checking in at 97% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Cabernet Franc the 2015 is perfectly balances bright acidity, sweet tannins and profound depth. I strongly recommend adding some to your cellar.
