2015 BV “Georges de Latour” Tasting Notes From Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate, “Blended of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot and 3% Malbec aged 22 months in 100% new French oak, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve Georges de Latour is very deep purple-black in color and reveals bags of crushed blackberries, black cherries and warm cassis notes with mocha, Sichuan pepper and hoisin plus unsmoked cigars and cedar chest hints. Full-bodied and absolutely laden with layers of black fruits and spices, it has a firm, grainy frame and seamless freshness, finishing very long…” ROBERT PARKER 96+ POINTS

2015 BV GEORGES DE LATOUR PRIVATE RESERVE, CABERNET SAUVIGNON

2015 BV “Georges de Latour” Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley, Rutherford

With Napa Valley history embedded deep into it’s DNA, Beaulieu Vineyards Georges de Latour Private Reserve is a timeless classic that embodies every quality that makes Rutherford so wondrous. The vineyard blocks that go into this wine were planed in the early 1900’s, with the first vintage of 1936 Georges de Latour Private Reserve released in 1940 in honor of the winery founder’s passing.  Under the guidance of one of the world’s most iconic winemakers, Andre Tchelistcheff, BV built on a reputation of excellence and achievements.  Now, nearly 80 vintages later Georges de Latour is still turning heads… There’s Just Something in that “RUTHERFORD DUST”  — HIGHLY RECOMMEND CASES of anything Rutherford.

Attention All Lovers of Red Wine and especially Enthusiasts of BIG Napa Valley Cabs — you won’t want to miss this. BV Georges Private RSV has always been one of our favorites, and 2015 has the potential to garner the RP100… notice the + sign. (96+) … I love when he does that. Enchanting, profound and deeply hedonistic all come to mind when tasting the 2015.  This vintage was made in the winery’s new state-of-the-art facility and it perfectly combines time-honored traditions with modern technologies.  Birthed from the iconic BV Ranches Numbers 1 and 2, originally planted by Georges de Latour in the early 1900’s… The 2015 is built around a core of Cabernet Sauvignon and heightened with a small amount of Petit Verdot and Merlot, the 2015 screams Rutherford Cabernet. I highly recommend a case before it’s gone.

2015 BV “Georges de Latour” Further Critical Acclaim (Beyond Parker):

JD97 – Jeb Dunnuck, “The flagship is the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Georges de Latour Private Reserve, a blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Merlot, and 3% each of Petit Verdot and Malbec aged in 90% new French oak. Deep purple-colored, with a brilliant bouquet of crème de cassis, blueberries, graphite, and smoked herbs, it hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, terrific purity, and building tannins, which become even more apparent with extended air time (I followed this bottle for multiple days). This is the real deal and count me impressed. It’s approachable today thanks to its purity and balance, but given its old-school, classic feel, I’ve no doubt it’s going to evolve for 2-3 decades.Jeb Dunnuck 97+ POINTS

V96 – Vinous, “The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Georges de Latour Private Reserve expresses all of the richness of the year while also retaining a terrific sense of energy and vertical lift for such a big wine. Floral notes add aromatic intensity to a core of red cherry jam, pomegranate, blood orange, mint and sweet spice notes. Racy and unctuous to the core, the 2015 has a lot to offer.” Vinous 96 POINTS

When a wine consistently garners 96 points, 97 points, and 96+ Parker… vintage after vintage, year after year… from every wine critic in the world, it’s a wine worth collecting, and a Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon you want in your cellar to showcase for many years.  One of the Best Napa Cabs and top wineries in Napa.  I always recommend a case of this wine, but with an ultra-limited allocation, I highly recommend at least a 6-pack at this Best Price in the World. Cheers! Edward
