2014 TOR NAPA VALLEY CABERNET SAUVIGNON

$79.99

With all of the X’s and O’s in just the right place… Tor’s 2014 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is the wine equivalent of an All-Star team of Napa Valley’s top players…  Melanson Vineyard on Pritchard Hill takes on the role as the team captain.  Also taking the field are To-Kalon, Teirra Roja, Cimarossa, Herb Lamb and Vine Hill.  Tor producers single vineyard Cabernets from each of these MVP’s (Most Valuable Properties), which start around $150/btl, and have near perfect batting records.  Only produced when the winery is convinced that the blend is every bit as enticing as any of their single-vineyard bottlings, Tor’s 2014 Napa Valley Cabernet is a home run at about half the price of some of the single vineyard wines.

Description

With supernatural intensity, wrapped in a powerful, yet accessible style, Tor’s 2014 Napa Valley Cabernet impacts with a gyroball of aromas, beginning with muddled blueberries, incense, forest floor and blackberry liqueur and changing up to espresso roast, Baker’s chocolate and licorice.  Coached up by Jeff Ames, former assistant winemaker, who worked alongside Thomas Rivers Brown at Schrader, Maybach, Outpost as well as Tor before he took over as head winemaker, I wouldn’t wait until the 9th inning to secure your case of Tor’s 2014…

2014 TOR NAPA VALLEY CABERNET SAUVIGNON

Winemaker’s Notes: “The 2014 Tor Napa Cabernet again shows what was best about the 2014 vintage with the sweet/forward fruit of the vintage. The palate is medium/full weight with very round and unobtrusive tannins. This shows a great mix of both red and black fruits with red cherries, blueberries, black raspberries and bright focusing acidity. This is a fantastic introduction to both the 2014 vintage and TOR Cabernets.”
