2014 TAPIZ BLACK TEARS MALBEC
This incredible 95 Point Malbec was made by Fabian Valenzuela and Jean Claude Berrouet. Jean Claude is the former winemaker at Château Pétrus.
The grapes used for Bodegas Tapiz flagship Black Tears Malbec transcend from an incredible vineyard in San Pablo, Valle de Uco that’s perched at a staggering 4,430 feet in elevation. The wine is called Black Tears after of the superior color intensity, which is a direct result of this remarkable vineyard.
The 2014 was given a voice by two incredible winemakers, including Jean-Claude Berrouet, who spent nearly 10 years at Château Pétrus, and he’s also credited for his work at Dominus Estate in Napa Valley. The only thing richer than this Malbec, is the amount of pedigree behind it, and at $49 it shouldn’t missed.
