2014 G CELLARS MOUNTAINS RESERVE CABERNET SAUVIGNON
$85.00
100 Point Winemakers are hard to come by, and the producers of this wine have more accolades than I can reasonably fit into anything short of a Tolstoy novel. That said, and skipping a few chapters, when they set out to create a Reserve level Cabernet from Mountainous origins, and produce it at under $100, they got my undivided attention… When I first tasted this wine, it was so powerfully hedonistic and brilliantly made, I instantly needed to do whatever it took to share it with you… It was made by two incredibly talented winemakers, Garrett Ahnfeldt & Tim Milos… Tim is a seasoned 100 Point winemaker with stellar vintages of Opus One, Stag’s Leap and Cliff Lede under his belt, and their combined talents created this ridiculously great wine…
The foundation of the 2014 comes from the winery’s Estate Vineyard on Mount Veeder and was enhanced with Spring Mountain and Howell Mountain sources. The combination of the three Mountain terroirs lends greatly to the wines depth and vast complexity. It was then held for 24 months in French oak barrels and now, with around 3 years in the bottle, this is perfectly ready to enjoy and will rock your world right now, guaranteed… but will also promise another decade of life ahead of it.
Sorry, now sold-out. It went really fast
