2013 EHLERS ESTATE 1886 CABERNET SAUVIGNON

$145.00

When a customer first notices the bottle of Ehlers Cabernet behind the bar at our shop, they often shout, “Ehlers, I love Ehlers…” Why? Because their Cab is a stunning example of classic St. Helena Cabernet Sauvignon, and the brand has a stellar reputation for quality. Their top-level 1886 Estate Cabernet represents the most significant potential from their Estate, and is a joy to behold.

Ehlers’s flagship Cabernet 1886 is created from the best vines on the property and is a barrel selection of the finest barrels produced each year. The winery’s neighbors include the renowned Aida Vineyard, Turley, and Revana, and Ehlers made the wine in an expressive, profound, and highly-detailed style that’s simply a joy to taste.

Ehlers’ winemaker is Laura Diaz Munoz, who began her career in Spain, New Zealand, and Chile before coming to Napa Valley, where she was the Associate Winemaker for Cardinale, Lokoya, Mt Brave, and La Jota. I love the Tasting Notes here from the Winery, and I highly recommend a case at this VIP Exclusive

2013 EHLERS ESTATE 1886 CABERNET SAUVIGNON ST HELENA

Tasting Notes from Winery, “Full-bodied, juicy, dense and intense, this vintage of “1886” will age and improve for decades. This wine is spicy, opulent and complex, chewy with rich elegant tannins. Blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, cocoa and exotic spices keep it interesting! A beautiful Napa Cabernet, from a beautiful vintage.”

Tasting Notes from Wine Enthusiast, “Yeasty and buttery like fresh-baked bread, this wine shows layers of high-toned cranberry flavor and soft, integrated tannin. Lightly dusted in black pepper and clove, it’s bright and fresh, while allowing dense blueberry and raspberry to shine through its framework of structure.” WINE ENTHUSIAST 93 POINTS
