What do you get when you combine the highest level of winemaking with 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from one of Andy Beckstoffer’s heritage vineyards in Oakville?  You get a wine that competes with the best in the world… Many of you know winemaker Luc Morlet from his work at Newton Cellars, Peter Michael, or from his own label Morlet which is raking in 100 point scores…  We brought you another wine from Cabaud earlier this year that many of you said was one of the best that you had ever tasted.  The 2012 Benedictions is the top wine produced at Cabaud and it’s made from the iconic Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper Vineyard in Oakville.  This 2012 vintage also caught the eye of Robert Parker 96 POINTS who scored it while it was still in barrel.

From Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate, “Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from clone 4 on rootstock 3309, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Unnamed tastes like a young Pontet Canet. Its dense purple color is followed by a classic bouquet of creme de cassis, cedarwood, spring flowers and a hint of white chocolate. Full-bodied with stunning fruit intensity and purity as well as a long finish, this was all accessed from the Missouri Hopper vineyard owned by the Beckstoffer Family. Like most 2012s, this wine will be drinkable young, but it has the depth and balance to age for 20 years.94-96 POINTS
